Hightrees has been working with one of our oldest clients, Ayrmer Software, over the last week or so to bring their new server online.

Whilst not a particularly complex task, due to the amount of data and verification that needed to be done, the bulk of the work was carried out over the weekends so there was minimal impact to Ayrmer Software’s day to day work.

RSD Training provide personal advanced motorcycle training to those people looking to improve and enhance the motorcycle skills.

RSD (Rubber Side Down in case you were wondering) wanted a fairly minimal website, along with VoIP telephone number and the basic social media channels setup where, over time, they will be adding more blog articles, videos of their motorcycle training and other little snippets of useful information.

Hightrees has just started to experiment with a new tool called MissingLettr.

Based on the newsfeed from our website (which we admit needs updating more regularly!), MissingLettr creates a whole sequence of social content and branded imagery (fully cropped and optimised for each of your social accounts) and apparently all we need to do is review and edit if needed.

Hopefully this tool will give us the kick needed to keep our own website up to date and handle all of the social media updates for a considerable period of time – not only give Hightrees some social media promotion but our clients as well !

HIghtrees has been testing and configuring Archos Core 101 tablets for a local client.

It seems the phrase “This may take a few minutes” should actually read “May take over 30 minutes” !

The tablets appeared to be faulty after running through the initial setup process and multiple factory resets were performed as the tablet seemed to loop for a long period of time.  Just as we were about to call the supplier to complain, the tablet stopped looping and acted normally !

With a little more patience added to the process, and plenty of Primordial Radio on the background, we finally got two tablets up and running successfully.

15 new Hosted Exchange email accounts have been created and are now live, ready for rollout.

A walk through document has been produced and we’re waiting the results of the trial setup by the client.

We were contacted recently by an old client, Wiltshire Forum of Community Area Partnerships, asking if we could help with providing them a suitable e-mail solution.

Based on the information on their current email hosting, we suggested that they go for our Hosted Exchange Mailbox option and we would carry out the email migration for them.

All of the email data was migrated from the old provider (which it transpired wasn’t running the system the client thought it was) and the client was up and running as soon as the DNS propagation was complete !

Hightrees has been working with Phil Bell, the webmaster of the Honda Owners Club (GB) in putting together a more up to date, user & mobile friendly version of their old site.

As well as a new look and feel, the new website features :

• E-Commerce allowing visitors to purchase Honda Owners Club Membership & Renewals, a range of clothing and other Honda related goodies
• Events Calendar to enable members to see what is happening around the country both for National events and more localised event info.
• The whole website operates over SSL to help maintain privacy and security.
• Data cull – as the previous website had evolved over many years, and had been worked on by many people, a lot of non essential information has been removed.
• Administration of the website has been made a lot easier, allowing information to be added quickly and updated more efficiently than the old site.
  

There have been some major housekeeping on email addresses as well to stop forwarding to personal e-mail accounts to help comply with GDPR and Data Protection.

All of the individual branch websites are now hosting with Hightrees and SSL certificates have been made available for the individual Honda Owners Club branches to use.

The site content will be increasing over the coming months, however November sees the Motorcycle Live show at the NEC Birmingham which was the deadline for launching the new site !

Not done an update in a while, but lots going on behind the scenes so time for an update for those that are interested

• Working on a new website project for a new client (which came via a referral). Training is starting this week with rollout at the end of October !  The project will also include a new e-commerce aspect, diary system and potentially ticket sales + ongoing support and email hosting.

• Numerous issues with the Windows 1803 update, mainly on older hardware and devices with limited storage.

• New e-commerce payment gateway testing for an exisiting client and a new website underway
  

• New Office365 installation for a new client to replace a mixture of POP3/IMAP email accounts, secure cloud storage as well as onsite backups over multiple devices.
